Arielle K. Jones earned her bachelor’s degree in Creative Writing from California State University, San Francisco and her MFA with distinction in Creative Writing from California State University, Fresno. She was the speaker for her graduating class’ Rainbow Graduation for her queer peers.

She’s served as a reader/editor for The Normal School, and the Philip Levine Poetry Prize. She is an alumna of the Tin House Summer Writing Workshop as well as multiple generative workshops through Winter Tangerine.

Her work tends to portray intimacy and underrepresented identities through taboos, folktales, and fairytales.

She’s also an eldest daughter, big sister, instructor and freelance editor.
